Florida’s capitol, in Tallahassee, was the 44th capitol I photographed. Like Arizona, the Florida capitol is in two parts: a historic building now preserved as a museum, and a modern office tower behind and surrounding it that houses the actual state government. While the main office tower was being renovated, I was still able to get unobstructed shots of the historic building and inner areas, including the interior of both. The original building was reverted to the 1902 footprint to accommodate the new construction, which is fairly bland and modernist inside and out but which does provide some interesting angles for photography. These photos were all taken in April of 2025.
